Riverview falls to Dartmouth school in Panther Classic final

GLACE BAY, N.S. —

The defending tournament champion Riverview Redmen ended up on the wrong end of a 6-0 score line that saw Dartmouth’s Auburn Eagles capture the 2019 Panther Classic title.

Riverview defeated the host Glace Bay Panthers 4-1 in one of two semifinal matches played on Saturday.

The other match saw Auburn cruise to a 7-2 win over Truro’s C.E.C. Cougars.

Other teams that took part in the tournament’s 2019 edition were Sydney Academy Wildcats, Memorial Marauders, Antigonish’s Dr. J.H. Gillis Royals and North Nova Gryphons of New Glasgow.

Riverview won the Panther Classic in 2018, while Glace Bay last claimed victory in their annual tournament in 2017.
