PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. —

The Glace Bay Panthers will play in the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 1 boys hockey provincials later this week in New Glasgow.

The Panthers defeated the Lockview Dragons of Fall River 4-1 in the provincial qualifying game held at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on Monday.

Xavier Johnson scored twice, while Mitchell Hiscock and Connor MacIntyre added single markers for the Panthers, who were forced to play in the qualifying game after losing to the Riverview

Ethan Price had the lone goal for Lockview.

Glace Bay's Colton Boutilier made 21 saves. Lockview's Ty Allison stopped 13 of 17 shots.

The NSSAF provincials will be hosted by Northumberland Regional High School, starting Friday. The schedule was not announced at press time.
