SYDNEY — After more than two months away from action due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cape Breton High School Hockey League will resume its regular season schedule today when the Sydney Academy Wildcats will host the Memorial Marauders at 7 p.m. at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.

Memorial will return to the ice at home on Thursday to play the Riverview Ravens at 7 p.m. at the Emera Centre Northside, while the Ravens will host the Glace Bay Panthers on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre.

Officials say the current timeline allows the league to play out the remainder of the regular season. There are 15 regular-season games left to be played, however, if a game is cancelled due to weather or COVID-19 it will not be rescheduled.

The playoffs are slated to begin on March 13 with the opening round being the best-of-three series. The championship series will also be best of three, if School Sport Nova Scotia has a provincial tournament.
