MacKinnon's four points helps Riverview Ravens advance to Cape Breton High School Hockey League final

Riverview will now play the winner of the Glace Bay/Memorial series in the final.

SYDNEY, N.S. - Noah MacKinnon had a big night for the Riverview Ravens.

MacKinnon had a four-point performance, which included a pair of goals, to help lead the Ravens to a 6-2 victory over the Sydney Academy Wildcays in Game 2 of the Cape Breton High School Hockey Legue best-of-three semifinal series at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Tuesday.

Riverview wins the series 2-0.

Luc Sampson scored twice, while Arlen Denny and Keigan Geizer chipped in with single markers for the Ravens.

 

Ty Axworthy and Alex Chenhall replied with goals for the Wildcats.

Riverview's Patrick Hinchey made 17 saves. Sydney Academy's Daniel MacGillivary stopped 38 of 44 shots.

The Ravens will now advance to the league championship series. They will face the winner of the Glace Bay Panthers and Memorial Marauders series, which the Panthers lead 1-0 heading into Game 2 on Thursday in North Sydney. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Emera Centre Northside.
