Brophy's three-point performance helps Sydney Academy beat Memorial in high school hockey Thursday

Brophy fired home a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist on the club's second goal.

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. - Nolan Brophy's three-point performance led the Sydney Academy Wildcats to a 4-2 win over the Memorial Marauders in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Emera Centre Northside on Thursday.

Brophy fired home a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist on the club's second goal.

Kent Wolodka and Ryan MacNamara chipped in with single markers for the Wildcats (4-11-1-1).

Dylan Campbell and Davis MacInnis replied with goals for the Marauders (2-12-2-0), who outshot the Wildcats 42-19.

Sydney Academy's Liam Collings made 40 saves. Memorial's Jack MacPhee turned aside 15 of 19 shots.

The Cape Breton High School Hockey League regular season will wrap up on Friday with the Riverview Ravens hosting the Marauders at 8 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Glace Bay Panthers finish CBHSHL regular season undefeated with win over Sydney Academy Tuesday

The Panthers finish the regular season with a 16-0-0-0 record.

SYDNEY, N.S. - The Glace Bay Panthers wrapped up the Cape Breton High School Hockey League regular season with an undefeated 16-0-0-0 record.

The first place Panthers defeated the Sydney Academy Wildcats 3-1 at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Tuesday.

Parker Hutchings, Mitchell MacDonald and Tyler Cormier each scored goals for the Panthers.

Ty Axworthy had the lone goal for the Wildcats.

The league's regular season will continue on Thursday when the Memorial Marauders host the Wildcats at 7 p.m. at the Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.

COXHEATH, N.S. - The Riverview Ravens claimed a 6-3 victory over the Memorial Marauders in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre on Friday.

Gahan Rector scored twice and added an assist, while JC MacDonald, Royce Balcom, Grant Cameron, and Josh Novak chipped in with single markers for the Ravens.

Daniel Young netted a pair of goals, while Ryan MacMullin also added a goal for the Marauders.

Riverview's Devon Gallant made 16 saves. Memorial's Tye Swan stopped 20 of 26 shots.

The Cape Breton High School Hockey League regular season continues with all four teams playing in rare Saturday contests.

Riverview will play Sydney Academy at 3:30 p.m. at Centre 200 in Sydney, while the Glace Bay Panthers will host Memorial at 7 p.m. at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay.

SYDNEY, N.S. - Keigan Geizer's second period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Riverview Ravens edged the Sydney Academy Wildcats 4-3 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Tuesday.

Riverview held a 4-1 lead going into the third period, but the Wildcats responded with a pair of third period goals to cut the lead to one, but that's as close as they would come to tying the game.

Royce Balcom scored twice, while Gahan Rector added a single marker for the Ravens (8-4-1-0).

Ty Axeworthy, Ryan MacNamara and Braylan Fitzgerald replied with goals for the Wildcats (3-10-1-0).

Riverview's Patrick Hinchey made 19 saves. Sydney Academy's Liam Collings turned aside 31 of 35 shots.

Cape Breton High School Hockey League action resumes on Thursday with the Memorial Marauders hosting Sydney Academy at 7 p.m. at Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.
