O'Neill scores overtime winner to lift Glace Bay Panthers past Memorial Marauders Thursday

Dylan O'Neill's goal at 4:14 of overtime powered the Glace Bay Panthers to a 4-3 victory over the Memorial Marauders in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney on Thursday.

Jonathan Gallant scored twice while Brady Doucette added a single marker for the Panthers (12-3-0-0).

 

Kenzie MacMullin, Noah MacLeod and Ian Jenkins replied with goals for the Marauders (5-6-4-0).Glace Bay's Owen Coombes stopped 14 of 17 shots. Memorial's Aidan Penny turned aside 17 of 21 shots.


Cape Breton High School Hockey League action resumes on Friday when Riverview hosts Glace Bay at 8 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Memorial Marauders blank Sydney Academy Wildcats in high school hockey Wednesday

MEMBERTOU, N.S. —

Sam Brown had a goal and an assist in the Memorial Marauders 3-0 win over the Sydney Academy Wildcats in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre Wednesday.

 

Will Lawless and Ian Jenkins also scored goals for the Marauders (5-6-3-0), who fired 60 shots on goal during the game.With the loss, Sydney Academy’s record falls to 1-12-1-0.

Memorial’s Aiden Penny made 24 saves. Sydney Academy’s Liam Collings stopped 57 of 60 shots.

Cape Breton High School Hockey League action resumes on Thursday with the Marauders hosting the Glace Bay Panthers at 7 p.m. at Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.

Doucette nets winner as Panthers edge Ravens Sunday

Brady Doucette's goal at 9:45 of the third period proved to be the game-winner as the Glace Bay Panthers edged the Riverview Ravens 3-2 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Miners Forum on Sunday.

 

Adam Hicks and Jarrett Hicks also scored goals for the Panthers (11-3-0-0).

Bryce MacKenzie and Sam MacKinnon replied with goals for the Ravens (11-3-0-0).

Glace Bay's Darian MacInnis made 36 saves. Riverview's Patrick Hinchey turned aside 23 of 26 shots.

Riverview Ravens fly past Sydney Academy Wildcats Friday

The Riverview Ravens picked up a 6-1 win over the Sydney Academy Wildcats in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre on Friday.

 

Sam MacKinnon scored twice while Curtis Novak, Charlie Lantz, JC MacDonald and Liam Brann netted goals for the Ravens (11-2-0-0).

Nick MacInnis had the lone goal for the Wildcats (1-11-1-0).

Riverview’s Devon Gallant picked up the win. Sydney Academy’s Daniel MacGillivray was tagged with the loss. Statistics were not available.

MacKenzie scores overtime winner as Ravens edge Marauders Thursday

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — 

Riverview Ravens

Bryce MacKenzie scored twice, including the game-winner, to lead the Riverview Ravens to a 4-3 overtime victory over the Memorial Marauders in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Emera Centre Northside on Thursday.

 

MacKenzie buried his second goal of the game at 4:13 of the extra frame, securing the two points for Riverview.

Liam Brann also scored a pair of goals for the Ravens (10-2-0-0).

Will Lawless, Travis Gillis and Ian Jenkins replied with goals for the Marauders (4-7-2-0).

Riverview's Pat Hinchey made 17 saves. Memorial's Andrew Marsh stopped 24 of 28 shots.

he Glace Bay Panthers extended their Cape Breton High School Hockey League restart winning streak to three straight games with a 6-1 win over the Sydney Academy Wildcats at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Wednesday.

Mason Fraser scored twice while Jarrett Hicks, Ty Clarke, Brady Doucette and Jonathan Gallant netted goals goals the Panthers (10-3-0-0)

 

Alex Chenhall had the lone goal for the Wildcats (1-10-1-0).

Glace Bay's Owen Coombes made 10 saves. Sydney Academy's Liam Collings stopped 38 of 44 shots.
