Doucette scores overtime winner to lead Glace Bay Panthers past Memorial Marauders

Brady Doucette was the hero, scoring the overtime winner to lead the Glace Bay Panthers to a 3-2 victory over the Memorial Marauders in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay on Sunday.

Ethan Murrant and Khoner White netted goals in regulation time for the Panthers (9-3-0-0).

Travis Gillis and Ian Jenkins notched goals for the Marauders (4-6-2-0).

Glace Bay’s Owen Coombes made 26 saves. Memorial’s Andrew Marsh stopped 35 of 38 shots.

Glace Bay Panthers beat Riverview Ravens in high school action Friday

COXHEATH, N.S. —

The Glace Bay Panthers posted a 4-1 victory over the Riverview Ravens in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex on Friday.

Liam Peterson, Dylan O’Neill, Jonathan Gallant and Brady Doucette netted goals for the Panthers (8-3-0-0).

Liam Brann had the lone goal for the Ravens (9-2-0-0).

Glace Bay’s Darian MacInnis made 26 saves. Riverview’s Patrick Hinchey stopped 20 of 24 shots.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, fans and media were not permitted to attend the game.

Cape Breton High School Hockey League action continues on Sunday when the Panthers host the Memorial Marauders at 7 p.m. at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay.

Jenkins scores five to help Memorial down Sydney Academy in overtime

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. —

Ian Jenkins scored a season-high five goals in the Memorial Marauders 6-5 overtime victory over the Sydney Academy Wildcats in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Emera Centre Northside on Thursday.

Jenkins scored twice in the first period and singles in the second and third, before potting the winner at 2:25 of the extra frame.

Cole Jessome also found the back of the net for the Marauders (4-6-1-0).

 

Alex Chenhall scored three times, while Graham Basque and Ryan MacNamara replied with single markers for the Wildcats (1-10-0-0).

Memorial's Andrew Marsh made 16 saves. Sydney Academy's Daniel MacGillivary stopped 23 of 29 shots.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no fans or media were permitted to attend the game.

Cape Breton High School Hockey League action continues on Friday when the Riverview Ravens host the Glace Bay Panthers at 8 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Hockey is Back!

NS Dept of Health and the NSSAF has given us the green light to resume hockey competition. Unfortunately fans will not be able to attend games until restrictions are eased. We will continue the regular season games and then will work out what to do with playoffs. Welcome back everyone!!!

Season Postponed until at least Jan 28

NSSAF has postponed all school sports until after students return to school on January 25, 2021 following Christmas Break. The status of school sports will be re-evaluated then. The high school hockey league will resume with a modified schedule when sports are re-established, no earlier than Jan 28 due to exam week following the Jan.25 possible return to play.

All games have been postponed until Dec. 10th as a result of the decision to postpone all extracurricular activites between schools.
