Hockey is Back!

NS Dept of Health and the NSSAF has given us the green light to resume hockey competition. Unfortunately fans will not be able to attend games until restrictions are eased. We will continue the regular season games and then will work out what to do with playoffs. Welcome back everyone!!!

Season Postponed until at least Jan 28

NSSAF has postponed all school sports until after students return to school on January 25, 2021 following Christmas Break. The status of school sports will be re-evaluated then. The high school hockey league will resume with a modified schedule when sports are re-established, no earlier than Jan 28 due to exam week following the Jan.25 possible return to play.

All games have been postponed until Dec. 10th as a result of the decision to postpone all extracurricular activites between schools.

Marsh, Marauders down Panthers in high school hockey Sunday

GLACE BAY, N.S. — 

Andrew Marsh made 42 saves to backstop the Memorial Marauders to a 7-4 victory over the Glace Bay Panthers in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Miners Forum on Sunday.

Ian Jenkins had two goals and an assist, while Travis Gillis, Ryan MacMullin, Jackson Ford, Nolan Ryan and Sam Brown added single goals for the Marauders (3-6-1-0)

Jarrett Hicks scored twice, while Tyler Cormier and Tye Clarke chipped in goals for the Panthers (7-3-0-0).

Owen Coombes and Darian McInnis shared time in goal for Glace Bay. Statistics were not record properly on the game sheet.

Riverview, Sydney Academy rivalry heats up in Ravens win over Wildcats

COXHEATH, N.S. — 

The Riverview Ravens and Sydney Academy Wildcats renewed their Cape Breton High School Hockey League rivalry on Friday night.

The Ravens downed the Wildcats 5-2 in a penalty-filled game at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

The contest saw a total of 18 penalties with Sydney Academy taking 11 of those, including two game misconducts and a gross misconduct.

Colby McCarron scored twice, while Sam MacKinnon, Noah MacKinnon and Lian Brann added single markers for Riverview (9-1-0-0).

Dante Basque netted both goals for Sydney Academy (1-9-0-0).

Ravens' Devon Gallant made 23 saves. The Wildcats' Liam Collings stopped 36 of 41 shots.

Cape Breton High School Hockey League action resumes on Sunday with the Glace Bay Panthers hosting the Memorial Marauders at 7 p.m. at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay.
